One aim: to make the best cables
The story of Esprit begins in 1996, the year Richard, who had always been passionate about music and hi-fi, started making cables. As so often in audio, the cables he made for himself were good enough to draw the interest of a number of enthusiasts, and he found himself making cables for friends. One thing led to another, and he founded Esprit with a single aim in mind: to make the best cables.
Nearly twenty-five years later the ethic is the same: to select the best materials for every part of every type of cable, and then to assemble them in the best way possible. Richard often says it is like a recipe — with the finest ingredients you can still get it wrong if you do not know how to combine them, and if you do, the results can be exceptional.

The workshop
Assembled entirely by hand
Every Esprit cable begins as bare copper strand, on which each insulating and protective layer is applied by hand; the twists and the shielding are made the same way. Each cable is checked in full twice before it leaves the workshop — once by the person who assembled it, once again at packing.
